Links Lately: Fashion photography, Tom Dixon, Inbox Zero, Local Hip Hop

I'm taking some time to reassess which platforms I should use to share stories and info with you. Of course, I want ManumaStyle.com to be our cozy clubhouse where we feel free to let our hair down for a longer read and up-to-date news. Short snippets are more suitable to other channels, like Facebook and Instagram, but I'm just one lady, and I can't be everywhere and still work toward actually producing the line… So here I'm trying something new: compiling a few useful links I've shared on Facebook into a digest here on the blog. Giving pause to the male gaze

“All the images are from a male point of view, all of it, my whole life, all of our lives — it’s always the man looking through the lens. Imagine if it were more women? … We’re missing out on things. And we’re conditioned to be ashamed of menopause and aging. I’m just not doing it. I’m into embracing menopause — I’m not there yet, but Frances McDormand style.”

I could not agree more about our need for women image-makers.

Dark, minimal decor

Gray autumn skies have me in the mood for this entire collection of stone tableware from industrial designer Tom Dixon.

Inbox minimalism

Unroll.me might be the only inbox ad I've ever clicked on, and I definitely don't regret it.

I subscribe to a lot of newsletters and brand emails so I can stay up to date, but it gets wayyyy out of hand.

Unroll.me lets you clean up your inbox super easily:

1. Unsubscribe en masse;

2. "Roll-up" a whole bunch of subscriptions into just one email, Reader's Digest style.

But this isn't a sponsored mention- I love it. Just one more easy peasy way to eliminate decision fatigue, get clarity and focus and move toward your goals. #cleanslate #septemberisthenewjanuary
